About the Role
The Experienced First Officer is responsible for serving as the Second in Command on flights operated by Horizon Air. Key duties include conducting pre-flight checks, ensuring the safe conduct of flights in compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company procedures, and policies. The First Officer will also coordinate with ground operations for fueling, loading, and passenger handling, and contribute to a positive team environment within the flight deck and across operational departments. A professional demeanor and adherence to grooming standards are expected as a representative of the company.
Requirements

200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time to serve as pilot in command in part 121 operations, or equivalent experience as detailed in FAR § 121.436(a)(3).

A minimum of 1,465 hours of total flight time or R-ATP qualification.

500 hours of cross-country flight time, or 200 hours if R-ATP or military qualified.

100 hours of night flight time.

250 total hours of flight time as pilot in command, including 100 hours of cross-country and 25 hours of night flight time.

75 hours of instrument flight time in actual or simulated instrument conditions.

25 hours of multi-engine flight time.

Possession of an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings.

A current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.

A restricted radiotelephone operator permit from the FCC.

A valid passport allowing unrestricted travel to and from the U.S. without a TRP.

A valid Driver’s License.

Excellent judgment, leadership skills, demonstrated command ability, and maturity.

Willingness to accept a base assignment in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Spokane, WA; Boise, ID; Medford, OR; Anchorage, AK, or Everett, WA based on company need.

Willingness to work multiple days away from home on a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications
