First Officer Experienced - Horizon Air
Horizon Air is seeking experienced First Officers to join our flight operations team. As a key representative of the company, the First Officer ensures a safe, professional, and positive experience for all guests while flying across the West. Role Summary
The First Officer serves as the Second in Command, responsible for all aspects of flight conduct including preflight duties, safe operation of the aircraft, and post-flight requirements. This is a union-represented position focused on maintaining strict compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), company policies, and Flight Operations Manual (FOM) standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform all duties as Second in Command for passenger, mail, and freight transport.

Ensure strict compliance with all FAA regulations and internal company flight procedures.

Coordinate effectively with ground teams, including fueling, loading, and passenger handling personnel.

Exercise active Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) to maintain safety and operational efficiency.

Maintain a professional demeanor and grooming standards as a representative of Horizon Air.
Required Qualifications

Minimum age of 21 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Authorization to work in the U.S.

Minimum of 1,465 total flight hours or R-ATP qualification.

200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time (per FAR 121.436(a)(3)), verifiable via pilot logbooks.

500 hours of cross-country flight time (200 hours if R-ATP or military qualified).

100 hours of night flight time.

250 total hours as pilot in command, including 100 hours of cross-country and 25 hours of night flight.

75 hours of instrument flight time (actual or simulated).

25 hours of multi-engine flight time.

Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings.

Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.

FCC restricted radiotelephone operator permit.

Valid driver’s license and a passport allowing unrestricted travel to and from the U.S.

Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, and command ability.

Willingness to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and multi-day trips away from home.

Ability to accept base assignments in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Spokane, WA; Boise, ID; Medford, OR; Anchorage, AK; or Everett, WA.

Must successfully obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge.
Preferred Qualifications

100 hours of multi-engine flight time.

100 hours of flight time within the last 12 months.

Four-year degree from an accredited university.
Compensation and Benefits

First-year pay rate: $92.72.

Monthly pay guarantee (jet): 75 credit hours; Reserve pay guarantee: 73 credit hours.
