Role Overview

Horizon Air is seeking an experienced First Officer to join our regional airline team, flying throughout the West. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Second in Command for the transport of passengers, mail, and freight, overseeing all pre-flight documentation, in-flight operations, and post-flight requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), company flight procedures, and safety policies.
  • Coordinate operational tasks, including fueling, loading, and passenger handling, in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain effective Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) and collaborate across operational departments.
  • Uphold a professional image and demeanor as a primary representative of the company.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
  • Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • FCC restricted radiotelephone operator permit.
  • Valid driver’s license and a passport allowing unrestricted travel to/from the U.S.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to communicate in English.
  • 200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time (per FAR § 121.436(a)(3)), verified via logbooks.
  • Minimum 1,465 hours total flight time (or R-ATP qualified).
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time (or 200 if R-ATP/military qualified).
  • 100 hours night flight time.
  • 250 hours total as Pilot in Command (including 100 hours cross-country and 25 hours night).
  • 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument flight time.
  • 25 hours of multi-engine flight time.
  • Demonstrated leadership, command ability, and judgment.
  • Ability to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays, and travel away from home.
  • Willingness to accept base assignments in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Spokane, WA; Boise, ID; Medford, OR; Anchorage, AK; or Everett, WA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 100 hours of multi-engine flight time.
  • 100 hours flight time within the last 12 months.
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university.

Compensation and Total Rewards

  • First-year pay rate: $92.72 per hour.
  • Monthly pay guarantee (Jet): 75 credit hours; Reserve guarantee: 73 credit hours.
  • Longevity match for pilots with prior Part 121 experience.

Additional Information

Employees are required to obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge; failure to qualify or maintain this clearance will result in termination. This position is subject to DOT regulations, including pre-employment drug testing.
