Second in Command Pilot - Part 121 Operations

Position Overview

The Second in Command Pilot is responsible for performing as a co-pilot in the transport of passengers, mail, freight, or for other commercial purposes within Part 121 operations. This critical role ensures the safe and efficient conduct of all flight operations, encompassing pre-flight preparations, adherence to all restrictions and regulations, the execution of safe flight, and the completion of all post-flight duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Second in Command in the transport of passengers, mail, and freight.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight duties, including the review of required paperwork and adherence to all flight restrictions.
  • Ensure the safe and professional conduct of all phases of flight.
  • Execute all post-flight responsibilities accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must possess the following qualifications to be considered for this position:

  • A minimum of 200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time to serve as Pilot in Command in Part 121 operations, in accordance with FAR § 121.436(a)(3). Candidates are required to provide verifiable documentation of this flight time. All prior qualifying time will be subject to verification in pilot logbooks by the System Chief Pilot and/or the Director of Operations during the interview process.
  • A minimum of 200 hours of experience as a Second in Command at a Part 121 carrier, as stipulated by FAR § 121.436(a)(3).
