Second in Command (First Officer) – Part 121 Operations
Position Overview
A premier Part 121 air carrier is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Second in Command (First Officer) to join its distinguished flight operations team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism. This position is responsible for assisting the Pilot in Command with all duties associated with the safe and compliant conduct of flights for the transport of passengers, mail, and freight.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs duties as the Second in Command on scheduled flights, ensuring strict adherence to all operational and safety protocols.
- Assists the Pilot in Command with all aspects of flight management, including comprehensive pre-flight planning, aircraft inspections, and review of all required documentation.
- Ensures the safe conduct of the flight from departure to arrival, including all in-flight responsibilities and post-flight duties.
- Maintains strict compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), company flight procedures, and internal policies to guarantee the safety of the aircraft, crew, and passengers.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must meet specific flight time requirements as established by Federal Aviation Regulations for Part 121 operations.
- A minimum of 200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time (PQT) to serve as a Pilot in Command in Part 121 operations, per FAR § 121.436(a)(3).
- Alternatively, candidates may qualify with a minimum of 200 hours as a Second in Command at a Part 121 air carrier, per FAR § 121.436(a)(3).
- Applicants are required to provide verifiable proof of all required flight experience in their pilot logbooks.
- All claimed flight time will be thoroughly verified with the System Chief Pilot and/or the Director of Operations during the formal interview process.
