Position Overview

Horizon Air is seeking a dedicated Team Captain to join the Ground Service group. This role serves as a working leader, responsible for directing, motivating, and evaluating Ground Service Agents to ensure seamless airport operations. The successful candidate will foster a professional, welcoming environment while managing daily tasks to facilitate efficient aircraft turnaround and guest service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct Ground Service Agents to achieve operational goals for Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety and operational procedures.
  • Perform leadership functions, including daily flight assignments, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Manage clerical duties, reporting, and resolution of passenger concerns.
  • Actively participate in day-to-day Ground Service Agent operational tasks.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service or airline operations experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, direct, and motivate teams.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid, unexpired driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long durations, and perform movements including bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification and an Airport SIDA badge.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service or community service experience.
  • Prior leadership experience.
