Role Overview: Team Captain - Passenger Service

Our airport personnel play a pivotal role in ensuring guests and their belongings move seamlessly from curb to cabin. Role Summary

As a working leader within the Passenger Service group, the Team Captain is responsible and accountable for the performance and conduct of the team. This position involves directing, motivating, evaluating, and approving the work of Passenger Service Agents, while also performing frontline Passenger Service Agent duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Passenger Service Agents during shifts to ensure the achievement of mutually established goals for Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines.
  • Monitor and ensure team compliance with all established procedures.
  • Execute leadership tasks, including daily flight assignments, scheduling, and weekly team management.
  • Manage clerical functions, maintain reports, and resolve complex passenger needs or complaints.
  • Actively perform all standard Passenger Service Agent duties.

Requirements

Experience, Education, and Skills

  • Required: Minimum 6 months of customer service or airline operations experience.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of customer service or community service experience; previous leadership experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18; must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Proven ability to lead, direct, and motivate teams for optimum performance.
  • Strong active listening and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and perform basic mathematics.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 25 WPM.
  • Physical ability to consistently lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform movements such as bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must embody company values: own safety, do the right thing, be caring and kind, and deliver performance.

Tattoo Policy

Candidates must adhere to the company tattoo policy: No visible tattoos on the face, front of neck, or chest. One tattoo (quarter-sized or smaller) is permitted per hand. Tattoos in other areas must not exceed the size of a credit card or be offensive. One tattoo per arm/leg/foot/back of neck/behind each ear is allowed, provided neck and ear tattoos are not visible when looking directly at the person. Tattoos must be covered by uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches; makeup coverage is not permitted.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Rate: $23.00/Hour

Compliance and Regulatory Information

SIDA Badge: Employees must obtain and maintain a SIDA badge issued by the airport authority. Failure to qualify for or maintain the SIDA badge will result in termination.

Drug Testing: This is a safety-sensitive position. Applicants must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing for specified substances as per DOT regulations (49 CFR part 40).
