The central purpose of the First Officer position is to ensure that as second in command every flight is continuously conducted safely, in compliance with all FAA and other government regulations, in conformance with operational specifications, and ultimately with the customer's experience and high degree of satisfaction in mind, while upholding the values of an outstanding family business environment.

Position Summary:

The First Officer position involves flying Part 135 charters on an 8 day on, 3 day off schedule on the CE550 aircraft. Duties may include serving as SIC on the CE525 aircraft. Hill Aircraft operates with an FAA-approved SIC-PDP for single pilot aircraft such as the CJ1.

Direct Reports:

  • None

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safe, efficient and economic execution of all flight assignments
  • Anticipate passenger needs and concerns, ensure they are addressed properly
  • Maintain aircraft in a clean, organized manner both pre and post flight
  • Follow company guidelines and directives
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely, legible, accurate way
  • Always present oneself in a positive, professional appearance and attitude
  • Prompt, clear, and courteous communication with dispatch and management
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency and adhere to industry best practices

Minimum Requirements & Experience:

  • 500 total time
  • 50 multi-engine
  • Commercial multi-engine land certificate with instrument ratings
  • 2nd class medical

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • 1,000 total time
  • 250 multi-engine
  • Previous Turboprop or jet experience
  • Previous simulator and Part 135 experience
  • Bachelor's Degree

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • No accidents, incidents, or violations within the previous five years
  • This is an exempt position. This position may require working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays to accommodate the needs of the customers and department operations
  • Must be able to pass a background check and DOT drug screen. Hill Aircraft is a Zero Tolerance Drug Free Employer, including pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Must be able to pass a TSA Criminal History Records Check
  • Solid, verifiable work history
  • Ability to travel domestic and international for the position as needed
  • Must live within one hour drive of KFTY airport
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and tablet applications
  • People management, conflict resolution, and resource allocation
