Hendrick Motorsports, a premier NASCAR Motorsports operation, is actively seeking an accomplished and dedicated Full-Time Embraer 145 Captain. This pivotal role is based at the KJQF airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to teamwork and operational excellence, consistently striving for the highest standards in all aspects of their performance. This position demands comprehensive knowledge of pilot and flight operations, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, operations specifications, aircraft flight manuals, and all other pertinent technical data relevant to aircraft operations. The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills, demonstrate flexibility for an on-call work schedule, be prepared for regular travel, and conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner that exemplifies the esteemed values of Hendrick Motorsports.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensures the safe and efficient operation of the Embraer 145 (ERJ-145) aircraft.
  • Conducts all flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering strictly to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:
    • Thoroughly reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status prior to each flight.
    • Performing a comprehensive pre-flight inspection in strict accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM).
    • Completing an exhaustive check of weather conditions and available facilities along the planned route, including all primary and alternate airports.
    • Ensuring that every flight is conducted in full compliance with the policies and procedures of Hendrick Motorsports Aviation and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
    • Prioritizing and ensuring the utmost safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew throughout all phases of flight.
    • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork and documentation in accordance with current operational procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum flight experience requirements:

  • Total Flight Time: 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land Pilot-in-Command (MEL PIC) Time: 500 hours
  • Time in Turbojet Aircraft: 500 hours
  • Instrument Flight Time: 250 hours
  • Aviation Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the aviation industry.

Specific Qualifications and Certifications

  • Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate is mandatory.
  • A current First Class Medical Certificate is required.
  • A type rating on the ERJ-145 / Legacy aircraft is highly desired.
  • Previous Part 121 or Part 125 Corporate Flight Experience is preferred.
  • Ability to operate on an on-call basis to accommodate dynamic flight schedules.
  • Commitment to completing annual ICAO International Procedures training.
  • Primary residence within a 1-hour drive from Concord, North Carolina, or willingness to relocate to the area.
