Operations Instructor
Hawaiian Airlines, renowned for its exceptional Hawaiian hospitality and aloha, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Operations Instructor to join its dynamic team. This role will play a pivotal part in delivering world-class training programs to ensure the seamless operation of our cargo and below-wing services.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Airport Operations and Cargo Training, the Operations Instructor will be responsible for the comprehensive delivery of training curricula, fostering the development of ramp and cargo operations expertise. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement and implementation of training initiatives, enhancing the overall efficiency and safety of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Serve as a classroom and field instructor, providing initial qualification, requalification, recurrent, and ongoing skills training in all facets of below-wing and cargo operations.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive courseware, encompassing lesson plans, delivery materials, student publications, exams, answer keys, and on-the-job training checklists.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure training is conducted accurately and adheres to all applicable regulations, company policies, and interdepartmental procedures.
- Training Evaluation & Enhancement: Conduct training and job task analysis to evaluate training methods, recommend improvements, and implement changes to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of accuracy and adequacy for all training products through thorough in-process and final reviews, editing for compliance, validation, and change verification.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Subject Matter Experts and relevant departments to develop and maintain accurate training curricula.
- Training Records Management: Maintain accurate training records in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of airline experience specifically focused on below-wing operations (Cargo, Ramp, Line Service, and/or Cabin).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze workplace needs, associate performance, work settings, and processes to design effective training solutions that drive performance improvement.
- Ability to work professionally and maintain corporate standards within both office and operational line environments.
- Exceptional ability to assimilate and organize large amounts of information quickly, prioritizing tasks as needed.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint; Excel proficiency is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to the Neighbor Islands, North America, and international locations as required.
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong service-oriented approach.
- Collaborative team player with a focused and dedicated mindset.
- Self-management capabilities with high integrity and discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5 years of experience in airline operations.
- Experience in training and education, curriculum design principles, and practices.

Our comprehensive total rewards package is designed to attract, engage, and retain the finest talent in the industry. It includes a competitive base salary along with variable compensation opportunities. This balanced approach creates a fulfilling and lucrative work environment, aligning individual achievements with organizational success.
The expected pay range for this position is $65,600 – $86,100, but individual compensation is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
