Fleet Training Instructor
Hawaiian Airlines is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Training Instructor to join its 'ohana. Reporting to the Director of Airbus or Boeing Flight Training, the Instructor delivers comprehensive training events to Hawaiian Airlines Pilots in ground school, Flight Training Device (FTD), or Full Flight Simulator (FFS) settings. This is a part-time position with an estimated duration of 6-12 months.
Responsibilities:
- Instructs Pilots on Aircraft Systems and Flight Management Systems, utilizing classroom instruction and aircraft simulators while adhering to approved curricula.
- Validates satisfactory completion of ground and various training modules.
- Facilitates courses including general subjects, pilot indoctrination, performance, and aircraft systems, in both classroom and flight training device environments.
- Assists the Fleet Training Development Manager in maintaining lesson plans, instructor guides, and curriculum for classroom and device training.
- Administers computer-based training to ensure adequacy for the intended training type.
- Performs administrative duties, including developing, administering, and grading exams, and producing accurate training records.
- Coordinates with other company trainers on standardized information.
- Engages in professional development and completes other related duties as assigned.
This position is identified as performing safety-sensitive functions as per DOT Regulation, 14 CFR Part 120 Subpart E 120.105-120.109, and is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with at least one (1) Turbojet Type Rating.
- Meets the requirements of 14 CFR 121.436.
- 2000 hours of Part 121 (or foreign CAA equivalent, or Military equivalent) flying time.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a disciplined approach to training standards and company requirements.
- Proven public speaking ability and effectiveness in conducting classroom instruction.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality presentation (verbal and written) and professionalism.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Word and PowerPoint (Excel a plus).
- Willingness to work flexible, part-time hours within a 7-day work period between 0400-0230.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College Degree.
- Previous instructional experience in Simulators within a Part 121 or Part 142 training organization.
- Boeing 717, 787, Airbus A330, A321 knowledge and experience or type rating.
- ETOPS and International operations experience.
- Experience in curriculum design for adult learning.
- Experience using MINT Record Keeping System.
