About the Role
Guilford Technical Community College seeks a dedicated Aviation Systems Technology Instructor to join their faculty at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) Airport. This role involves developing and delivering high-quality instruction in aviation systems, fostering a supportive learning environment, and collaborating with industry partners. The successful candidate will ensure student success by creating optimal learning conditions, responding to student needs, and modeling employability skills.
Responsibilities

Develop, prepare, and teach Aviation Systems Technology courses according to the approved Part 147 manual.

Demonstrate and supervise correct operation in areas including Flight Controls/Rigging, Landing Gear Systems, Engine Systems, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical Power Generation, Instrument Systems, Navigation/Communication Systems, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Composites, FARs, Forms/Records, and Welding.

Collaborate with business and industry partners to provide necessary training and education.

Ensure adherence to TSA badging requirements for the Airport Operating Area.

Support college administrative requirements and maintain competency in the instructional field.

Participate actively in the total affairs of the college.
Requirements

Ability to demonstrate correct operation and supervise operation in key aviation systems areas.

Must meet Transportation Security Administration (TSA) badging requirements.

Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role, which may include lifting over 50 pounds, extended standing and walking in lab/hangar environments, qualifying on and operating program-related equipment, and completing comprehensive testing in skill areas.

Willingness to teach day, evening, and/or weekend hours.
