Job Summary
Guardian Flight, a leader in air medical transport services and a proud member of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family of solutions, is seeking a dedicated Fixed Wing Pilot. Based in Houghton, MI, this critical role involves operating the Pilatus PC12 aircraft to provide safe and efficient medical air transportation for patients. The successful candidate will contribute to a professional team deeply committed to the highest safety standards for both crew and patients. This position operates on a 14-days-on, 14-days-off schedule, encompassing day and night missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with a team of medical experts to ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients to and from various locations and facilities.
- Ensures meticulous aircraft readiness for all flight dispatches, adhering strictly to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company operational requirements, including maintaining aircraft cleanliness.
- Accurately maintains all required company and regulatory documentation and record-keeping for shifts, load manifests, and other relevant records.
- Fosters effective communication and collaboration with air and ground dispatch, fellow flight crews, medical facilities, and external partners.
- Provides comprehensive shift change information to transitioning pilots and teams, meticulously following established protocols for recording company change board details.
- Is accountable for maintaining all required certifications and actively participating in ongoing ground and air training programs.
- Demonstrates unwavering commitment to punctuality, reliability, and professionalism, consistently upholding the company's elevated standards in safety and service.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Possess a Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C-ASEL) certificate.
- Willingness and ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate within five (5) years of employment.
- Hold a valid and unexpired driver's license.
- Maintain a current FAA First- or Second-Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 2,500 total flight hours.
- Minimum of 2,000 fixed-wing hours.
- Minimum of 1,000 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours.
- Minimum of 500 cross-country hours.
- Minimum of 100 night hours.
- Minimum of 75 instrument hours (including 50 actual instrument hours).
Compensation & Benefits
Guardian Flight offers a competitive compensation package and attractive incentives:
- Annual Salary Range: $99,900.95 - $102,290.05
- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 (contingent upon successful completion of training and check ride).

Working Environment & Physical Demands
The role requires working in varying outside weather conditions and the flexibility to operate day, night, and overnight shifts as assigned. Physical duties may include aircraft de-icing, assisting with aircraft towing, hangar maneuvering, and pre-flight preparations. Candidates must be capable of prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, balancing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, or crawling unassisted. The ability to assist with patient loading and to lift/move up to 150 pounds cumulatively with assistance is required. Essential vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
