Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • FAA First Class Medical + FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit, and FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
  • 4,000 hours of flight time, 1,000 hours in jet, worldwide travel experience and GV and/or GVI.
  • Ability to maintain valid U.S. driver’s license, pass pre-employment, and submit to unscheduled drug testing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Aviation-related project management experience in programs such as SMS, FOQA, Security, or International Operations.
  • Ability to think creatively and bring nonstandard innovative solutions to the table.
  • Solid communication skills, and ability to function under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership skills, situational awareness, and professionalism.
  • Humility, positive attitude, and a passion for what you do.

About the job

As an Aircraft Captain, you will be responsible for managing complex and dynamic aircraft operations around the globe. You will use excellent teamwork and Crew Resource Management (CRM) to lead fellow crew members to meet the demands of our global business. In addition to being a great pilot, you will be responsible for owning and collaborating with cross-functional teams on various aviation projects to maintain, grow, and evolve our Aviation Program. Our Google aviation team has a strong focus on risk management, humility, standards, collaboration, and teamwork. Everyone on the team works together toward the common goal of creating a safe, efficient, consistent, and enjoyable experience for our users.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and execute complex domestic and international trips as Pilot In Command (PIC).
  • Operate aircraft safely and consistently as described by our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
  • Engage with, and actively participate in, our Risk Management and Security Programs to reduce and mitigate risk.
  • Lead and participate in aviation projects of varying size, scope, and complexity that deliver significant impact to the team and our users.
