UAS Pilot - Entry

GDIT is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as an Entry-Level UAS Pilot in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This full-time position within the Science category offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the application of Unmanned Aircraft Systems across various aviation scenarios. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient integration of UAS technology.

Responsibilities:

This role encompasses a wide range of duties, including:

  • Providing expertise in the operation of unmanned aircraft.
  • Developing flight test plans and procedures, and creating briefing and training materials for flight operations.
  • Planning and performing in-process and final testing of various systems under diverse conditions.
  • Utilizing technical knowledge of UAS operations to support safe integration into the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • Collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders, including manufacturers, vendors, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contributing to the safe integration of UAS into the NAS without compromising existing capacity or safety.

Qualifications:

  • 0+ years of related experience in UAS operations.
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking, flight operations, flight testing, and unmanned aircraft systems.
  • A minimum of 20 hours of logged time as UAS Pilot-in-Charge (PIC).
  • Agency-Specific Suitability background check is required.
  • Valid US Passport is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Self-starter with strong collaborative abilities.
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite (Word, Excel).

  • Location: On-site at a customer location in Southern New Jersey.

  • Salary Range: $47,600 - $64,400. Actual salary will vary based on experience, location, and contractual requirements.
