General Atomics Systems Integration (GA-SI), located in Killeen, Texas, is seeking a qualified Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) Instructor/Operator. This full-time, onsite position involves coordinating and executing ground and flight operations for advanced UAV systems, requiring a Secret clearance and US Citizenship.
About the Role
The UAV Instructor/Operator is responsible for overseeing and participating in all aspects of ground and flight operations for assigned Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs). This includes mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, and ensuring adherence to aircrew resource management and safety protocols. The role also involves serving as an Instructor/Operator for the UAVs, potentially remotely piloting the vehicle for testing and demonstration purposes, and defining, planning, and executing flight programs in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements

Education and experience equivalent to a four-year technical degree or trade school, coupled with at least five years of UAV operation or aviation experience. Equivalent professional or military experience in UAV or aviation may substitute for formal education.

A fundamental understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories, and concepts.

A minimum of six hundred (600) hours of experience in a OSGCS/UGCS, with at least two hundred (200) hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).

Graduation from a DA or DES Instructor/Operator (IO) course.

Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II flight physical.

Proficiency in CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for effective interaction with diverse personnel and stakeholders.

Basic computer operations and applications knowledge.

The capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, including extended hours and travel as necessary.

Familiarity with Army forms, records, and publications, as well as Contractor Flight and Ground Operations procedures and records (DCMA 8210).

US Citizenship is required.
