This full-time, hourly position offers a hybrid work environment and a competitive salary range of $105,360 - $160,883.
About the Role:
The UAV Pilot will play a crucial role in coordinating and executing ground flight operations, encompassing mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and flight safety. This role will support various flight operations, including training, testing, and simulator operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Standardization Evaluator, providing training and evaluating contractor personnel on the Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft System.
- Coordinate and participate in ground and flight operations, adhering to FAA regulations and company protocols.
- Pilot vehicles remotely to ensure compliance with specifications during flight tests and demonstrations.
- Develop and verify procedures for new aircraft features, contributing to operational and safety procedures and training materials.
- Maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Army forms, records, and publications, as well as Contractor Flight and Ground Operations procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent trade school experience, coupled with five or more years of UAV operation or aviation experience. Equivalent military experience may be substituted.
- In-depth understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories, and concepts.
- Minimum of 500 hours in a UGCS, including 50 hours as a Gray Eagle Aircraft Commander.
- Graduation from a DA or DES IO Course.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to maintain a FAA Class II flight physical.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience operating or instructing on the Gray Eagle Extended Range (GE-ER) platform.
- FAA Private Pilot Certificate with a current instrument rating.
- Experience with Universal Mission Simulator (UMS) and UGCS Embedded Trainer (ET) / Mission Server.
