Instructor - Cyber Security
Overview
GMR Aviation Academy (GMR AA) seeks a dedicated and experienced Instructor to deliver comprehensive training programs in Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. This role is pivotal in equipping internal and external stakeholders with critical cyber defence skills within the aviation context. The Instructor is responsible for the planning, organization, and delivery of theoretical and practical training sessions, particularly leveraging the Phygital Lab environment. A key function involves the continuous modulation of course content to align with evolving business and stakeholder requirements, audit compliance, and adherence to prestigious accreditations such as ICAO, ACI, and IATA, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Head Operations and Training, who in turn reports to the VP & Head GMR AA.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Instructor - Cyber Security include, but are not limited to:

Training Delivery:
- Developing and imparting training programs on Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, and SOC operations to a diverse audience of internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing practical, hands-on training covering procedures, techniques, and approaches for dealing with the security of IoT, OT, and SCADA systems.
- Conducting practical, real-world scenario training in a simulated Cyberage Phygital Lab environment to provide live experiential learning.
- Offering first-hand experience in understanding cyber-attacks on IoT and SCADA systems, demonstrating the setup of IT infrastructure components, and testing for potential loopholes or vulnerabilities.
- Creating realistic scenarios based on observed cyber threats across critical IT and Industrial Sectors.
- Implementing an "Offensive Testing" approach to enhance understanding of countering hacks and malware attacks, ensuring effective defence mechanisms are taught and applied.
- Raising awareness regarding relevant Standards and Regulations for Cyber Security.
- Designing and conducting tailored practical tests at the conclusion of each training program.

Curriculum Development & Management:
- Designing, developing, and delivering regular and advanced training programs.
- Ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality training programs.
- Periodically updating training materials, modules, and course curriculum.
- Maintaining up-to-date working knowledge of regulations and requirements pertinent to the training areas.
- Maintaining comprehensive training records for specified batches and retaining trainee records as per regulatory, GMRAA, and QMS policies and guidelines.
- Submitting all trainee documents and examination sheets to the concerned authorities.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Coordinating effectively with external and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with reputed universities to develop specialized Cyber Security programs.
- Scheduling and managing training requirements for external stakeholders and partner organizations involved through agreements with GMR AA.
- Managing residential student affairs, potentially including Warden roles.
- Assessing and collecting training requirements from various airport verticals.
- Liaising with IATA regarding international training requirements from internal and external entities.

Operational Support:
- Ensuring the maintenance of the Phygital Lab.
- Providing support for Audit and Compliance activities.
- Contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives within the training function.
- Ensuring the timely settlement of training charges and coordinating invoice generation with the Finance team.

Business Contribution:
- Contributing to the profitability and growth standards of the training center.
- Assisting in identifying new business opportunities and expanding training offerings.
- Liaising with relevant internal and external departments to support business development efforts.
Education and Qualifications
- A Bachelor's (B. Tech), Master's (M. Tech), or MCA degree in Cyber Security or a related field.
- Holding certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of Linux operating system fundamentals, including basic command line usage.
- Conceptual knowledge of programming or scripting languages.
- A solid grasp of essential networking concepts, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, networking devices, and transmission media.
- Understanding of key security concepts such as malware, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with network traffic inspection tools such as Wireshark, TShark, or TCPdump is highly recommended.
Experience
- A minimum of 10 to 12 years of overall IT experience, with at least 4-5 years specifically focused on Cyber Security.
- Proven strong liaison and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
- Proficiency in using Learning Management System (LMS) platforms.
- Ability to effectively analyze training needs and prepare relevant reports.
