Cyber Security Instructor (Aviation Training)
Overview
The Cyber Security Instructor is responsible for the comprehensive planning, organization, and delivery of specialized training programs focusing on Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. This role involves training diverse internal and external stakeholders within the aviation sector and beyond. The Instructor plays a key role in conducting practical training sessions, particularly within the advanced Phygital Lab environment, and is tasked with continuously modulating course content. This ensures alignment with evolving business requirements, stakeholder needs, and crucial audit compliance standards, specifically maintaining accreditation with key aviation bodies such as ICAO, ACI, and IATA for GMR Aviation Academy (GMR AA).
Key Responsibilities
- Impart training programs covering Cyber Security fundamentals, Ethical Hacking methodologies, Penetration Testing techniques, and Security Operations Center (SOC) practices to internal and external participants.
- Provide hands-on training on procedures and approaches for dealing with the security of critical infrastructure technologies, including IoT, OT, and SCADA systems.
- Deliver practical, experiential training on real-world scenarios utilizing a simulated Cyberage Phygital Lab.
- Facilitate hands-on experience in understanding cyber-attacks on IoT and SCADA systems, providing insights into IT infrastructure setup and vulnerability testing.
- Develop scenarios based on real-world cyber threats observed across critical IT and Industrial sectors.
- Cultivate an "Offensive Testing" approach to enhance understanding of dealing with hacks and malware, thereby reinforcing effective defense mechanisms.
- Increase awareness regarding Cyber Security Standards and Regulations.
- Conduct tailor-made practical tests at the conclusion of each training program.
- Coordinate effectively with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with universities to develop relevant Cyber Security programs.
- Schedule and manage training needs for external stakeholders and partner organizations in accordance with GMR AA agreements.
- Manage residential student affairs where applicable.
- Assess and gather training requirements from various airport verticals.
- Liaise with IATA regarding international training requirements from internal and external entities.
- Prepare and maintain all training records for specific batches.
- Maintain trainee records for the specified period as per regulatory policies, guidelines, and quality management systems (QMS).
- Submit trainee documents and examination sheets to the concerned authorities.
- Design, develop, and deliver standard and advanced training programs.
- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality training programs.
- Periodically update training materials, modules, and course curricula.
- Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of regulations and requirements pertinent to the training subjects.
- Address admissions queries to provide clarity and transparency.
- Ensure the maintenance and operational readiness of the Phygital Lab.
- Provide support for audit and compliance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for training programs and processes.
- Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure timely settlement of training charges and invoice generation.

- Assist in identifying new business opportunities and expanding training offerings.
- Liaise with relevant internal and external departments for business development purposes.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's (B. Tech), Master's (M. Tech), or MCA degree in Cyber Security or a related field.
- Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent credentials.
- Solid understanding of Linux operating system fundamentals, including basic command line usage.
- Conceptual knowledge of programming or scripting languages.
- Strong grasp of essential networking concepts, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, networking devices, and transmission media.
- Understanding of core security concepts such as malware, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with network traffic inspection tools (Wireshark, TShark, or TCPdump) is highly recommended.
Experience and Skills
- A minimum of 10 to 12 years of overall IT experience, with at least 4 to 5 years specifically focused on Cyber Security.
- Demonstrated strong liaison and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms.
- Proven ability to analyze training needs and prepare comprehensive reports.
