Instructor - Cyber Security (Aviation Training)
Overview
A leading aviation academy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as an Instructor specializing in Cyber Security. The Instructor will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, meticulous organization, and expert delivery of training programs focused on Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. This pivotal role caters to a diverse audience of both internal staff and external stakeholders within the aviation industry. A key component of the position involves leading practical training sessions utilizing the state-of-the-art Phygital Lab. The Instructor ensures that all course content is consistently updated and modulated to align with evolving business requirements, stakeholder needs, and audit compliance standards, while upholding the prestigious accreditations from international bodies such as ICAO, ACI, and IATA, which are critical for the academy's standing. The Instructor reports to the Head Operations and Training and the VP & Head GMR AA.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert-level training programs covering Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, and Security Operations Center (SOC) concepts and practices to a wide range of internal and external participants in the aviation sector.
- Provide hands-on instruction on procedures, techniques, and approaches specifically relevant to the security of IoT, OT, and SCADA systems often found in critical infrastructure environments.
- Conduct practical training sessions based on real-world scenarios within the simulated Cyberage Phygital Lab, providing live, experiential learning on critical systems.
- Guide trainees through practical exercises simulating cyber attacks on IoT and SCADA systems, offering insights into IT infrastructure setup, potential loopholes, and vulnerability testing methods.
- Develop and implement an "Offensive Testing" approach within training to foster a deeper understanding of how to effectively respond to and defend against cyber threats like hacks and malware attacks.
- Promote awareness and understanding of key Standards and Regulations governing Cyber Security within the industry.
- Design and administer practical, hands-on tests at the conclusion of training programs to assess trainee competency.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with internal departments, external stakeholders, reputed universities, and partner organizations collaborated through agreements, ensuring seamless delivery of training programs.
- Schedule and oversee all training logistics required by external stakeholders and partner entities.
- Manage certain residential student affairs or perform Warden-related duties as required.
- Assess and collect specific training requirements from various operational verticals within the airport environment.
- Liaise with international aviation bodies, such as IATA, regarding specific international training requirements originating from internal or external entities.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate training records for specified batches, including detailed records for all trainees for the required retention period, adhering to regulatory policies, GMRAA guidelines, and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Ensure timely submission of all trainee documentation and examination sheets to the appropriate authorities.
- Design, develop, and deliver both standard and advanced training programs.
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality training programs in a timely manner.
- Periodically update and refine training materials, modules, and overall course curriculum to reflect current threats, technologies, and best practices.
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all relevant regulations and requirements pertaining to the respective training areas.
- Address queries from prospective students regarding admissions to ensure clarity and transparency in the process.
- Assume responsibility for the maintenance and operational readiness of the Phygital Lab.
- Provide essential support for audit and compliance processes related to training activities.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in training content, delivery methods, and operational processes.
- Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure timely settlement of training charges and accurate invoice generation.
- Contribute to the business development objectives of the training center, including ensuring profitability and maintaining standards for growth.
- Assist in identifying and securing new business opportunities and expanding the portfolio of training offerings.
- Liaise with all relevant internal and external departments to support business development activities.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech), Master of Technology (M. Tech), or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree with a specialization in Cyber Security is required.
- Holding industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other equivalent certifications is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Linux operating system fundamentals, including command line usage.
- Possession of conceptual knowledge regarding programming and scripting languages.
- A robust understanding of essential networking concepts, including the OSI model, TCP/IP protocols, networking devices, and transmission media.
- A solid understanding of core security concepts, including various types of malware, intrusion detection systems (IDS), firewalls, and common vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with network traffic inspection tools such as Wireshark, TShark, or TCPdump is considered a significant advantage.
Experience and Skills
- A minimum of 10 to 12 years of overall experience in the Information Technology sector is required, with at least 4-5 years specifically dedicated to Cyber Security roles.
- Proven capability in strong liaison and effective stakeholder management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills are mandatory for this role.
- Proficiency in utilizing Learning Management System (LMS) platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze training needs and prepare detailed reports.
