About the Role
Freedom II is seeking highly motivated and experienced Captains and First Officers to join its team. As a vital part of the flight operations team, pilots will operate company aircraft under the highest standards, adhering to BCAA OTAR Part 121 requirements. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, with active participation in the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
Captains hold the critical responsibility for the aircraft and its occupants from engine start to shutdown, ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
- Prior to each flight, meticulously verify the aircraft possesses a valid Certificate of Airworthiness or Permit to Fly, adhering to AN(OT)O Article 28 and OTAR Part 121 Subparts E or P.
- Maintain unwavering vigilance over the safety and security of all passengers and crew from the moment the aircraft doors are closed.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and compliance with AN(OT)O regulations and the operating rules of the specific airspace, adhering to the more stringent option when applicable.
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing the fitness of all flight crew members, ensuring no flight commences if any member's capacity is compromised due to injury, illness, fatigue, or the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Prioritize safety by diverting to the nearest suitable aerodrome if any flight crew member experiences a significant reduction in their ability to perform their duties during flight due to fatigue, illness, or oxygen deprivation.
- Execute all checklists with meticulous precision, ensuring each step is thoroughly addressed.
- Diligently report any known or suspected aircraft defects upon flight termination.
- Maintain accurate and complete journey logbooks and General Declarations.
- Safeguard flight recorder data and, if necessary, the flight recorders themselves, in the unfortunate event of an accident or incident.
- Promptly notify the appropriate local authority in the event of an emergency requiring actions that deviate from local regulations or procedures. This report should be filed within 72 hours, with a copy submitted to the Governor.
- Maintain constant vigilance over aircraft security throughout the duration of the flight.
- Report any instances of unlawful interference to both the Governor and the designated local authority.
- Ensure the correct type and sufficient quantity of fuel and oil are loaded according to Freedom II requirements for the planned flight.
- Verify that the aircraft's weight and balance remain within the calculated limits for the prevailing operating conditions.
- Implement all necessary safety precautions during taxiing, takeoff, and landing, including ensuring all passengers are securely fastened in their seats and cabin baggage is stowed appropriately.
- In emergency situations, confidently take decisive action, prioritizing safety and potentially deviating from established rules, procedures, and methods if deemed necessary.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid FAA/UK-CAA/EASA certificate with applicable ratings.
- A minimum of 4,000 total flight hours, including at least 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on multi-engine aircraft and 2,000 hours as Second-in-Command (SIC), with a minimum of 500 hours on turbine aircraft.
- Hold a current Class One Medical certificate.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Maintain a spotless record with no history of accidents or incidents.
- A clean criminal record is mandatory.
- In-depth familiarity and adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and procedures governing flight operations, including but not limited to:
- The relevant sections of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order.
- Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements, particularly Parts 119 and 121.
- Any specific conditions outlined in the Operator's approval.
- Maintain a valid license with all applicable ratings and carry a valid passport while on flight duty. Freedom II will provide any necessary visas. License and rating renewals should be initiated at least six weeks prior to their expiration date.
- Keep all allocated Company manuals and instructions current and easily accessible.
- Thoroughly prepare for each flight, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of current conditions.
- Understand and respect the importance of confidentiality regarding internal Company information and passenger details.
- Adhere to Freedom II's uniform and grooming standards.
