In addition to the general roles and responsibilities detailed in OMA 1.5.1, and Cabin Crew roles and responsibilities detailed in OMA 1.5.4, Senior Cabin Crew Members and Cabin Crew acting up as a Senior Cabin Crew Member in accordance with OMA 4.1.2.4 are responsible for:

The conduct and coordination of normal and emergency procedures specified in the Operations Manual Suite

Discontinuing non-safety-related duties for safety or security purposes

When the level of turbulence so requires, and in the absence of any instructions from the Commander, discontinuing non-safety-related duties and advising the Flight Crew of the level of turbulence being experienced and the need for the fasten seat belt signs to be switched on

Assigning areas of responsibility to each Cabin Crew Member

The delivery of Cabin Service Standards and ensuring that standards are adhered to by Cabin Crew

Proactively managing situations to resolve any possible conflict of safety and service procedure

Balancing Cabin Crew’s workload and health requirements to ensure that crew remain physically and mentally capable of carrying out any safety or security procedure

Acting to ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times

Maintaining effective communication between passengers, Cabin Crew, Flight Crew and ground handling agents

Taking responsibility to support the Commander by providing advice, information and assistance that contributes to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight

Taking responsibility to actively seek and receive such information and explanation from the Commander as is necessary to ensure the safe and secure conduct of the flight

Pre-flight briefing of Cabin Crew

Ensuring that the pre-flight cabin inspection has been carried out

Ensuring that relevant emergency equipment remains easily accessible for immediate use

Ensuring that all passengers are briefed on the location of emergency exits and the location and use of relevant safety and emergency equipment

Supervising the arming / disarming of doors and cabin secure procedures and inform the Commander at the appropriate times

Supporting the Commander in the maintenance of a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct and personal appearance

Organising efficient service and customer care during the flight

Complete all required documentation accurately and clearly, so as to obtain an appropriate response, which contributes to safe and efficient operations
