Key Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Possession of a Matric Certificate, Grade 12 results, or an N3 qualification, or a relevant SAQA-accredited tertiary qualification.
- Demonstrated academic proficiency in compulsory subjects, including Mathematics or Statistics 101 and English. A minimum of a D symbol on Higher Grade or a C symbol on Standard Grade is required for both.
- Additionally, a D symbol on Higher Grade or a C symbol on Standard Grade in either Physical Science or Computer Science is mandatory.
- A valid South African Airline Transport Pilot’s License (ATPL) is essential. Alternatively, a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with all ground subjects for the ATPL completed (formerly referred to as a Frozen ATPL) will be considered. The candidate must obtain a valid ATPL license within four years of their employment start date with SAA, including a multi-engine instrument rating.
- A current and valid Class 1 Medical certificate is a prerequisite.
- A minimum of 1,500 accumulated flying hours is required. This total must include at least 200 hours of flight time accrued on multi-engine aircraft.
- Candidates must hold valid South African citizenship and possess a valid passport.
