Pilot Training Instructor
Aviation professionals are sought to conduct and deliver pilot training programs and pilot proficiency checks, specifically skill tests associated with initial type ratings and/or the issuance of the ATPL. The instructor identifies gaps in pilot skills, enhancing and developing their professional capabilities to ensure the highest levels of safety, security, and efficiency across all flights. The role involves training and guiding pilots in accordance with the Fly Jinnah Operational Manual and in compliance with PCAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs pilot training as required by Fly Jinnah, adhering to international standards to ensure safe and efficient entry-into-service and operation of Airbus aircraft, including airfield and airport familiarization.
- Delivers effective and timely pilot training programs that meet business operational needs and performance standards outlined in the Operational Manual, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and PCAA regulations.
- Conducts theoretical and practical/technical training, including but not limited to initial and recurrent training, aircraft systems and layout, and crew resource management.
- Collaborates with various teams to identify training needs for the flight crew, monitors training progress, and generates reports for management.
- Provides continuous guidance and support to pilots through courses and one-on-one coaching sessions, offering program reports and improvement suggestions.
- Prepares First and Second Officers to meet required competencies for operational readiness, maintaining records of necessary certificates and licenses to meet recertification requirements.
- Notifies Training Examiners of any breaches in SOP or safety protocols, identifies safety risks in accordance with the Fly Jinnah risk assessment process, and monitors risk mitigation steps. Educates pilots to enhance safety awareness.
- Communicates the Flight Operations Manual to pilots during training courses to ensure compliance with PCAA, IOSA, and other regulatory body procedures.
- Provides pilots with necessary notices related to training, licensing, and qualifications, ensuring full understanding by the relevant personnel.
- Supports the training team through internal/external audit requirements and checks, ensuring availability, updates, and compliance of related documents and records with approved standards. Escalates conduct matters to supervisors or managers for resolution.
- Executes training schedules and agreed-upon course material, maintaining the highest levels of training quality and standardization. Contributes to the creation and updating of question databanks for pilot selection and evaluation exams, ensuring the safety and readiness of facilities and equipment.
- Supports new hires in the Induction Program and briefing sessions, providing guidance and responding to inquiries as necessary.
- Supports other hubs in conducting training programs and delivers training courses to third parties as needed.
- Operates as a pilot when required by scheduling and conducts observational flights as a checker on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid ATPL (Aircraft Transportation License).
- Must have corresponding aircraft type rating certificates (Airbus 320, 321).
- Must pass the technical/psychometric assessment for Pilots as per Fly Jinnah/PCAA standards.
- Must pass the Medical Fitness check-up for Pilots as per Fly Jinnah/PCAA standards.
- Must have completed basic airport security procedures and regulations training.
- Must have training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Response; formal qualification is preferred.
- Training certificates such as "Train the Trainer," "NLP," or "Instructive Training" are advantageous.
- Crew Resource Management Training is an advantage.
- Expert knowledge of aircraft systems with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and Web Search.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation abilities.
- Fluency in English.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a pilot for a comparable airline; experience with a low-cost airline is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 1500 hours as a Training Instructor with an Airline Company, delivering training to pilots on the Airbus 320.
- Exposure to Civil Aviation Authorities and regulatory bodies, preferably PCAA; familiar with PCAA and IOSA regulations pertaining to flight operations and pilot licensing.
- Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools used for technical subjects; must have conducted training on First Aid and Airline Safety.
- Experienced in designing, catering, and delivering training courses according to standards and business needs.
- Capable of monitoring performance against procedures, manuals, standards, and regulations.
- Cost-oriented with effective persuasive, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
