FlightSafety International is seeking a qualified Flight Instructor to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This role involves delivering comprehensive ground and simulator instruction for professional aviation clients, focusing on core, specialty, and enrichment courses.

About the Role

The Flight Instructor will be responsible for conducting pilot ground and simulator training, developing curriculum-based training materials, assessing trainee progress, and maintaining accurate training records. The position requires adherence to regulatory requirements and maintaining instructor qualifications. This role offers a competitive salary range of $100,625.00-$171,250.00.

Requirements

• Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state.
• Applicants without an ATP must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• At least one unrestricted Pilot in Command (PIC) type rating is required.
• Willingness and ability to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and common aviation regulations.
• Ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
• Facilitation and customer-service skills.
• Ability to receive coaching and feedback.
• Physical capability, vision, lifting, and simulator-access requirements must be met.
• Employment is contingent upon compliance reviews, export-control eligibility, and, where applicable, eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirement.
• FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience is preferred.
• A total flight time of 2,500 hours is preferred.
• The regulatory minimum total flight time is 1,500 hours.
