Pilot Instructor - C-17

FlightSafety International, a leader in aviation training, is seeking a qualified Pilot Instructor to provide ground-based training for C-17 pilots. This role is based at JBLM McChord Field, WA, and involves instructing and assessing crewmembers within an established Training System (TS) curriculum.

About the Role

The Pilot Instructor will conduct comprehensive ground-based training for C-17 pilots, utilizing various training devices and simulators. Responsibilities include delivering initial, upgrade, requalification, and refresher training. The role also involves training maintenance personnel on engine run courses, conducting detailed briefings and debriefings, analyzing student performance, and serving as a KC-46 Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role involves regular sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional reaching, stooping, and kneeling. The position requires frequent ingress/egress from simulators and aircraft, working in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes. Employees may be required to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds occasionally. Noise levels can range from quiet to extremely loud. The ability to safely exit a WST via an escape ladder is necessary.
