The Opportunity:
As a Flight Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of aviation professionals. You will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to stringent aviation regulations and FlightSafety's renowned training principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging and effective ground and simulator training for clients participating in core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
- Develop and refine training materials to meet evolving client needs and align with applicable curriculum standards.
- Evaluate trainee progress, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for qualification or further training.
- Maintain meticulous training records for each client, ensuring accurate documentation of their progress and achievements.
- Proactively identify and address client training challenges, seeking guidance and support when necessary.
- Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Unrestricted ATP certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- Candidates without an ATP certificate must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 (without a Supervised Operating Experience limitation).
- Minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Willingness to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
- Minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage classes effectively and deliver engaging instruction.
- Strong facilitation and customer service skills, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements:
This role demands specific physical capabilities to ensure safe and effective training delivery. These include, but are not limited to:
- Manipulating simulator controls requiring full range of motion in both feet.
- Reaching and manipulating controls within the simulator from the Instructor's chair.
- Maneuvering within the simulator environment, including entering and exiting via a ramp.
- Moving between the Instructor station, screen, and podium during classroom instruction.
- Exiting the simulator in the event of a malfunction, potentially requiring movement in a severely pitched attitude.
- Possessing visual acuity for close-up work, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds frequently.
Work Environment:
The Flight Instructor will work in a dynamic environment that includes:
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts.
- Potential exposure to high places, outdoor weather conditions, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, radiation risks, and vibration.
