FlightSafety International seeks a Simulator Second in Command (SIC) to support pilot training for various aircraft types at their Lafayette, LA facility. The SIC will act as a qualified co-pilot for customers undergoing recurrent, initial, or generic training courses.
About the Role
The Simulator Second in Command (SIC) is responsible for maintaining currency in assigned training programs. This role involves acting as the "Second-In-Command" for both internal and external Customer Pilots during recurrent, initial, or generic training courses within the established curriculum. The SIC will serve as a competent co-pilot for clients training in multi-crew aircraft who are without a flying partner, focusing on SIC duties rather than instructional tasks.
Responsibilities

Act as Second-in-Command (SIC) for clients training in multi-crew aircraft when they do not have a flying partner.

Maintain SIC pilot qualification in accordance with program requirements.

Adhere to FlightSafety International’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and procedures for SIC qualification.

Ensure all required certificates, ratings, and designations for SIC duties remain current.

Perform SIC duties in various aircraft types for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients.
Requirements

Fluency in English (verbal and written), including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write.

Excellent cockpit verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.

Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.

A second language may be required at certain Learning Centers.

The ideal candidate will reside in the Lafayette, LA area.
Qualifications

High school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D.) with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings.

Minimum of 450 flight hours.
