About the Role
FlightSafety International is seeking a Simulator Second in Command (SIC) to join their team in DFW Airport, TX. This role is responsible for maintaining currency and acting as a Second-in-Command for internal and external customer pilots during various training courses. The SIC will serve as a competent co-pilot for clients training in multi-crew aircraft, without performing instructional duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings.

Minimum of 450 flight hours.

Fluency in English, including speaking, understanding, reading, and writing.

Excellent cockpit verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.

Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.

A second language may be required at some Learning Centers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular use of hands for object manipulation and controls; reaching with hands and arms; talking and hearing.

Potential requirement to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.

Must possess the physical range of motion to manipulate rudder controls and anti-torque pedals with both feet, operate simulator controls, enter and exit the simulator via a ramp, and exit a malfunctioning simulator in a pitched attitude.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, wet/humid conditions, fumes/airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme cold/heat, electrical shock risk, radiation risk, and vibration.
