FlightSafety International is seeking a Part-Time Simulator Second in Command for its facility located in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves acting as a Second-in-Command (SIC) for customer pilots undergoing recurrent, initial, or generic training courses within the established curriculum.
The Part-Time Simulator Second in Command (SIC) supports internal and external customers by serving as a competent SIC for pilots training in multi-crew aircraft who do not have a flying partner. This position does not involve instructional duties but requires the incumbent to maintain currency and qualification in assigned programs and adhere to FlightSafety International's Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and procedures. The role may involve acting as SIC for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients.
The role requires regular use of hands, arms, and the ability to reach. Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and tasting/smelling may be necessary. Specific physical demands include reaching and manipulating foot controls, reaching and manipulating simulator controls, entering and exiting the simulator via a ramp, and exiting a malfunctioning simulator. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role involves lifting and/or moving objects up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, and occasionally entails working in high, precarious places, outdoors, and exposure to various environmental conditions and noise levels.
