About the Role
FlightSafety International is seeking a Simulator Second in Command (SIC) for its operations in Orlando, FL. This role involves maintaining currency in assigned programs to act as Second-In-Command for internal and external customer pilots during recurrent, initial, or generic training courses. The SIC will serve as a competent co-pilot in multi-crew aircraft training scenarios, focusing on supporting customer training without instructional duties.

Responsibilities

Act as Second-in-Command (SIC) for clients training in multi-crew aircraft when they lack a flying partner.

Serve as a competent SIC, focusing on co-pilot duties rather than instructional responsibilities.

Maintain SIC pilot qualification according to assigned program requirements and FlightSafety International's Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Ensure all required certificates, ratings, and designations for SIC duties remain current.

Perform SIC duties in various aircraft types for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients as needed.
Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings.

Minimum of 450 flight hours.

Fluency in English, including verbal and written communication, with the ability to speak, understand, read, and write effectively.

Excellent cockpit verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.

Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.

A second language may be required for specific learning center needs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular use of hands for fine motor skills, manipulation of controls, and reaching.

Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use senses of taste or smell.

Physical range of motion to operate foot controls, manipulate simulator controls, enter/exit the simulator via a ramp, and exit a malfunctioning simulator in various attitudes.

Specific vision abilities including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work environment involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to high, precarious places, outdoor weather, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
