About the Role
FlightSafety International is seeking a Simulator Second in Command (SIC) to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining currency in assigned programs and acting as a Second-In-Command for internal and external customer pilots during recurrent, initial, or generic training courses. This role involves supporting training within the established curriculum by acting as a competent SIC pilot for multi-crew aircraft scenarios.

Responsibilities

Act as Second-in-Command (SIC) for clients training in multi-crew aircraft who are unaccompanied by a flying partner.

Serve as a competent SIC pilot, without performing instructional duties.

Maintain SIC pilot qualification in accordance with assigned program requirements.

Adhere to FlightSafety International’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and procedures for SIC qualification.

Ensure all required certificates, ratings, and designations necessary for SIC duties are current.

Perform SIC duties in various aircraft types for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients as required.
Requirements

High school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D.) with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings.

Minimum of 450 flight hours.

Fluency in English, including verbal and written communication, with the ability to speak, understand, read, and write.

Excellent cockpit verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.

Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.

A second language may be required at certain learning centers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular use of hands for fine manipulation, reaching, and talking/hearing.

Potential need to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or taste/smell.

Must possess the physical range of motion to manipulate rudder controls, operate simulator controls, enter/exit the simulator via ramp, and egress from a malfunctioning simulator.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work environment involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, occasional work in high, precarious places, and potential exposure to various environmental conditions including noise.
