Simulator Second-In-Command

FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a qualified Simulator Second-In-Command (SIC). This individual will maintain currency in assigned programs to serve as a competent SIC for both internal and external customer pilots participating in recurrent, initial, or generic training courses, adhering to established training curricula.

Responsibilities:

• Act as Second-in-Command for clients training in multi-crew aircraft who arrive without a flying partner. The SIC will provide competent support without performing instructional duties.
• Maintain SIC pilot qualification in accordance with the requirements of assigned programs.
• Adhere to FlightSafety International’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and procedures to maintain SIC qualification.
• Keep current all certificates, ratings, and designations required to perform duties as an SIC.
• Act as SIC in various types of aircraft for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D.) with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings; minimum of 450 hours.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Fluency in English, encompassing verbal and written communication skills (speaking, understanding, reading, and writing).
• Excellent cockpit verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse customers in a professional manner.
• Adaptability to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in a second language may be required at some Learning Centers to meet specific needs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role involves regular use of hands for manipulating controls and reaching. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment may involve proximity to moving mechanical parts, occasional work in high or precarious places, and potential exposure to varying weather conditions, fumes, chemicals, and noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $47,150 – $79,925, dependent on qualifications, education, skills, experience, and market demands.
