Flair Airlines is currently seeking permanent, full-time Inflight Instructors to join our growing and ever-changing organization. Reporting to the Manager, Inflight Training Delivery, the Inflight Instructor is responsible to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of service training designed to meet company standards, policies, and brand.

The Inflight Instructor will be based out of Toronto and will be expected to travel regularly.

Primary Job Functions:

The duties of the Inflight Instructor include:

  • Planning and preparing for instruction by ensuring that the:
    1. Training environment is organized, clean, and distraction-free
    2. Lesson plan/materials are available, current
    3. Equipment is available, clean, and operational
  • Facilitating the entire suite of Inflight safety and service training programs, as assigned. Training programs include but are not limited to Initial, Annual, Requalification, IFD Leadership, Crew Resource Management, Quality Support Flight Attendant (QSFA), and Inflight Service.
  • Instructing to promote learning and improve performance using quality instruction and facilitation techniques, including but not limited to:
    1. Ensuring all training programs are delivered accurately and consistently in accordance with Inflight policy and procedures, and regulatory bodies
    2. Communicating and managing training expectations
    3. Creating and fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere that maintains learner engagement
    4. Assessing and supporting the learners through individual and group assessment and feedback
    5. Collaborating with Inflight Management to address performance issues
    6. Promoting the Company’s Safety Culture
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate completion and submission of administration documentation: SMS reporting, unserviceable training equipment reporting, attendance, and training records
  • Reporting training program content errors/omissions
  • Providing recommendations for continuous improvement of training program content and facilitation methods
  • Acting as a QSFA to conduct line indoctrination, line checks, and IFD upgrades. Identify online trends/procedural drift that may pose a threat to safety or require additional training, and make recommendations to the Manager, Inflight Training Delivery.
  • Attaining and maintaining Flight Attendant/Instructor qualifications
  • Participating in instructor meetings and completing projects or other duties, as assigned

Safety Duties, Accountabilities, Authorities, and Responsibilities:

  • Report proactive and reactive safety issues
  • Demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program
  • Conduct assigned tasks and corrective actions
  • Encourage active participation in the SMS for all personnel

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-year experience as a Flight Attendant in a multi-crew jet aircraft (B737 experience preferred)
  • Certificate/diploma in adult education considered a strong asset
  • Experience as an In-Charge Flight Attendant is considered an asset
  • Experience as a facilitator/instructor is considered an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
