Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) - Fiji Link
Overview
The Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) for Fiji Link is a pivotal role responsible for delivering approved simulator training, encompassing both full flight and fixed base simulators. This position operates in strict adherence to company mandates and regulatory requirements, ensuring the highest standards of flight crew competency. The SFI reports directly to the Manager Training – Flight Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive simulator training sessions for flight crew members.
- Deliver instructor training programs as per established requirements.
- Facilitate training sessions utilizing the Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) or Multi-Functional Training Device (MFTD).
- Perform approved progress reviews within the simulator or IPT.
- Assess pilot performance to identify the need for additional remedial training and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Propose enhancements to training methodologies to improve efficiency, safety, and overall quality.
- Recommend standardized procedures and instructional techniques for all Training Captains and Flight Crew Technical Ground Instructors to ensure consistent adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Execute Line Operations Safety Audits (LOSA) across the Fiji Link network, with a particular emphasis on DHC6-400 and ATR operations.
- Deliver ground school lectures as required.
- Undertake administrative duties, project work, course development, and other assigned tasks as delegated by the Manager Training – Flight Operations.
- Provide support to Fleet Captains in upholding aircraft technical standards and ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory mandates.
- Identify and recommend necessary training requirements to the Manager Training – Flight Operations.
- Collaborate with the Manager Training and Fleet Captains to pinpoint process improvements aimed at increasing productivity and training effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a qualified Synthetic Flight Instructor or possess prior experience as a Check & Training Captain or Training Captain.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Instructor Pilot is required.
