Job Summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Flight Services Specialist to join its dynamic aviation team in Memphis, TN. This pivotal, full-time professional role is responsible for the comprehensive coordination, booking, revision, and cancellation of flight services for both day-of-operation and non-scheduled flights. The specialist plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient logistical support for flight operations, contributing directly to FedEx’s renowned reliability and global network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates extensively with established contracted vendors, including Crew Tracking Systems (CTS) and Computer Reservation Systems (CRS), as well as flight crewmembers, to meticulously confirm and manage flight service bookings and cancellations.
  • Proactively researches and secures alternative non-contract vendors when primary contractual resources are unavailable, ensuring seamless continuity of service and uninterrupted operational support.
  • Identifies and implements strategic cost-saving opportunities through the efficient cancellation and reuse of resources, such as accommodations, to optimize operational expenditures.
  • Interprets, applies, and ensures strict adherence to all applicable sections of the pilot’s collective bargaining agreement in the planning and execution of all flight service arrangements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support overall flight operations and departmental objectives, contributing to team success and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • An Associate's Degree or an equivalent level of education is required.

Minimum Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience within a demanding customer service environment, specifically involving problem resolution, comprehensive information processing, and managing inquiries via telephone.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly, concisely, and professionally.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a proven capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive working relationships with flight crewmembers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency and practical experience in using Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Work Environment and Schedule

This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 aviation operations. The position is based at the Federal Express facility in Memphis, TN.
