Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and subsidiary of NetJets, seeks a qualified Pilot in Command for a G600 aircraft based at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) in Detroit, Michigan. EJM has been a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977. This position supports a well-established account operating three corporate jets, with dedicated support from two full-time Maintenance Technicians, two full-time Flight Attendants, and a team of seven Pilots. The estimated annual flight time per aircraft is 300 hours, covering both domestic and international destinations. This is not a commutable position; the successful candidate must reside within driving distance of DTW airport.

The Pilot in Command (PIC) is ultimately responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the safe operation of each flight.
  • Verifies crewing and trip assignments comply with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks.
  • Employs Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as needed. Serves as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
  • Completes all pre-flight aircraft checks, including verifying the maintenance status, to confirm mission readiness. Documents all aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen, etc.) is completed per SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations. Delivers exceptional customer service and addresses any special passenger needs.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate clearly and promptly with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
  • Provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Proactively investigates and resolves service deviations.
  • Collaborates with crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent service experience to owners and passengers, resolving conflicts and challenges effectively.
  • Maintains regulatory and company-required training and currency.
  • Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • First Class Medical Certificate.

Years of Experience:

4-6 years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):

  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
  • FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours.
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours.
    • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours.
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours.
    • Instrument: 300 hours.
    • Jet: 500 hours.
  • Preference for local candidates with Gulfstream or similar size aircraft experience.
  • International experience preferred.
