Pilot in Command - Gulfstream G600 - Detroit, Michigan
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Pilot in Command to join their team in Detroit, Michigan (DTW).
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-established account operating three corporate jets, supported by a dedicated team of two full-time Maintenance Technicians, two full-time Flight Attendants, and seven Pilots. This position offers an estimated 300 hours of annual Part 91 flying to domestic and international destinations. Please note that this position requires residing within driving distance of DTW airport.
The Role:
As Pilot in Command, you hold the paramount responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This encompasses adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience. Your key duties will include:
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensuring all crewing and trip assignments adhere to company and regulatory standards.
- Executing meticulous flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for every flight.
- Employing the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead pre-flight briefings and proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Maintaining strict compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating effectively with all company personnel.
- Acting as the designated Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as outlined by company policy.
- Diligently completing all aircraft pre-flight inspections, including verifying the maintenance status of the aircraft, to guarantee mission readiness. Any discrepancies must be meticulously recorded in accordance with company SOPs.
- Supervising and ensuring the completion of all aircraft ground servicing requirements (fueling, oil, oxygen, etc.) in strict adherence to SOPs.
- Providing comprehensive passenger briefings that meet both company policy and regulatory standards, ensuring a high level of customer service and addressing the specific needs of all passengers.
- Utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to maintain clear, timely, and effective communication with crew members and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
Delivering Exceptional Service:
- Providing an unwavering commitment to delivering quality service to owners and passengers, actively seeking opportunities to elevate the EJM service experience.
- Demonstrating a proactive approach to investigating and resolving any service deviations.
- Collaborating effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and positive service experience for all owners and passengers.
- Demonstrating a professional approach to conflict resolution and addressing challenges in an appropriate and efficient manner.
Professionalism and Continuous Improvement:
- Maintaining all regulatory and company-mandated training requirements and recency of experience.
- Adhering to the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and diligently reporting any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through appropriate channels.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
- 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is highly preferred
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet (Gulfstream G600 experience is highly advantageous)
Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
- International experience is a plus
