Position Overview
Executive Jet Management is actively seeking qualified candidates for a Second in Command position flying a Citation Sovereign based in St. Louis, MO (KSUS). This is an integral role within a well-established, high-performing flight department operating on EJM's Part 135 Certificate. The position supports a 3-pilot account, further enhanced by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, anticipating approximately 750 flight hours annually. The successful candidate will join a team that explores new destinations while upholding the highest standards of safety and service.
The Second in Command is responsible for the welfare of passengers, ensuring safety and service excellence. The role requires training and proficiency in abnormal and emergency procedures, as well as comprehensive knowledge of cabin systems and operations. The SIC is accountable to the Chief Pilot for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned duties related to flight assignments and reports directly to the assigned Pilot in Command for duties specific to a scheduled trip.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Performs pilot duties in strict adherence to the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manuals, and all other pertinent instructions.
- Ensures the company's goals for safety, security, and quality are met through continual compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting any safety, security, or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations via the appropriate process.
- Conducts post-flight duties for the aircraft interior, including but not limited to, removing debris from the cockpit area, clearing ice, coffee, and catering, and reporting any interior equipment discrepancies to the PIC.
- Arranges for and obtains required cabin items and catering for flights as identified by the Flight Operations Center.
- Provides the highest level of customer service at all times.
- Coordinates all work schedules and schedule changes with the Chief Pilot.
- Accurately logs and reports flight and duty times.
- Reports all commercial flying performed outside of the company to the Flight Operations Center for inclusion in official Flight and Duty Time Records.
- Maintains a valid First Class Medical Certificate and provides a copy to the Flight Operations Training Department by the twentieth (20th) of the month it is due.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications (KSAOs)
- Possesses strong prioritizing and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, high-level priorities effectively.
- Demonstrates proactive decision-making skills.
- Must maintain a valid First Class Medical certificate.
- A type rating in the CE680 series is preferred, though not strictly required.
- Upholds a high standard of service in a strict and changing regulatory environment.
- Exhibits strong customer service skills.
- Must reside in or have the ability to relocate to the St. Louis, MO area.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Total flight time: 2500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 500 hours
- Instrument: 150 hours
- Jet: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine: 100 hours
- Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
