Role Purpose

The Pilot (First Officer) is instrumental in providing a superior air transportation experience while maintaining an impeccable safety record on every flight. Serving as a key ambassador for NetJets, the First Officer delivers not only technically accurate and safe transportation but also ensures an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi through landing, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Greet Owners and passengers prior to flight, make introductions, and provide comprehensive briefings on the specific flight or trip, including itinerary verification, weather updates, and safety procedures. Explain any necessary changes to the itinerary.
  • Provide professional in-flight service as needed, including the handling of alcoholic beverages and service of catering.
  • Load and properly stow all baggage aboard the aircraft.
  • Capable of accommodating and conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
  • Assist the Captain as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all operational aspects, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Act as a primary liaison for Owners and passengers, representing NetJets from their arrival at the FBO until safe landing at their final destination and departure from the final FBO.
  • Properly communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets via the dedicated Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller for the assigned fleet.
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies accurately and promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, depending on specific operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certifications and Licenses:
    • Must possess a Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
    • Must hold a current FAA First Class Medical certificate.
    • Must possess an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • Experience and Skills (KSAOs):
    • Must possess or meet the requirements for an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating in accordance with FAR 61.160.
      • Minimum age of 21 years.
      • Flight time experience requirements: 1,500 hours total flight time, or 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
    • Minimum 200 hours cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
    • Minimum 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC).
    • Minimum 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
    • Minimum 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
    • ATP written examination must be successfully completed prior to commencing Indoctrination Training.
    • Minimum 50 hours fixed-wing multi-engine time.
    • Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally without restrictions.
    • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
    • Ability to work varying hours including day, night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays is essential.
    • Must demonstrate extreme flexibility and the ability to adjust to rapid changes in schedule and location.
    • Must effectively manage rest to ensure preparedness for flight duty at all times during assigned tours. Duty periods may extend up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days and can span different time zones and extreme weather conditions. Pilots may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, requiring hotel stays.
    • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
    • Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
    • Must possess a valid State driver's license.
    • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
    • Must be service-oriented with a professional, well-groomed appearance, demonstrating the ability to make a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, particularly under pressure.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to make quick and accurate decisions while maintaining close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
    • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Comfortable working around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
    • Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Base Salary Range

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $86,015 - $117,706 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
