The Opportunity

  • Extensive Crew Bases: Pilots have the freedom to live nearly anywhere, with over 200 bases across the contiguous U.S. Base selections are not determined by seniority, allowing pilots to choose where they call home.
  • Flexible Schedules: Choose the schedule best suited to individual needs, with the ability to change it every four months. Options include:
    • 7 days on/7 days off
    • 8 days on/6 days off
    • CC52 (52 days over 4 months)
    • CC60 (60 days over 4 months)
    • CC72 (72 days over 4 months)
    • CC76 (76 days over 4 months)
  • Paid Commute: Commute time is planned into the schedule and is paid, ensuring it does not overlap with a pilot's time at home.

Key Responsibilities

The First Officer is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience with a continued safety record on every flight. Key tasks include:

  • Ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft in accordance with FAA guidelines, OEM Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Greeting Owners/passengers, providing pre-flight briefings on the flight, itinerary confirmation, weather updates, and safety procedures.
  • Delivering in-flight service, including handling alcohol and catering.
  • Loading and properly stowing all baggage.
  • Handling and conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets or those who smoke.
  • Acting as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets throughout the trip.
  • Properly communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller and completing associated paperwork.
  • Maintaining final authority on the aircraft regarding all areas of operation, including compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance.

Locations

This position supports operations across the Midwest Region, including potential crew bases in numerous locations throughout states such as Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and West Virginia.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
  • Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meet the requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with multi-engine rating (IAW 14 CFR § 61.160):
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • 1,500 hours total flight time experience; OR
    • 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate; OR
    • 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; OR
    • 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
  • 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
  • 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
  • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
  • ATP written exam completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
  • 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
  • Ability to work varying hours, including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be extremely flexible and demonstrate the ability to adjust to rapid changes in schedule or itinerary.
  • Ability to manage rest effectively to be prepared for flight duty at all times during a tour. Duty may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days and span different time zones and weather conditions. Pilots may be away from home for seven or more days/nights during a tour.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Service-oriented approach with a neat, well-groomed appearance and the ability to make a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions with close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to work around animals and conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Base Salary Range

The base salary range for this position is $86,015 - $117,706.
