Purpose of Position
The First Officer plays a critical role in providing a safe and superior air transportation experience for every NetJets owner and passenger. This position demands not only technical proficiency but also a dedication to exceptional customer service, embodying the values of the NetJets brand.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft, adhering to FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, the NetJets FOM or AOM, and SOPs throughout all phases of flight.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting owners and passengers, providing thorough briefings on flight and safety procedures, and addressing any itinerary changes.
- Provide attentive in-flight service, including catering and beverage services, adhering to all relevant protocols.
- Manage baggage handling, loading, and stowage, ensuring a seamless travel experience for owners and passengers.
- Accommodate special requests, including flights with pets and passengers who smoke, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Act as the ultimate authority on the aircraft, upholding all safety and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison between owners/passengers and NetJets, ensuring a seamless journey from arrival at the FBO to departure at the final destination.
- Communicate any maintenance discrepancies or abnormalities to the NetJets Maintenance Control Center, completing all necessary documentation.
- Adapt to changing operational requirements and perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written exam completed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Meet the requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating as outlined in 61.160, including specific flight time requirements.
- Possess a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without limitations.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying flight times, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional adaptability and responsiveness to rapidly changing operational demands.
- Effective rest management skills to ensure readiness for flight duty throughout assigned tours.
- Willingness to be away from home for extended periods, potentially up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, accommodating diverse time zones and weather conditions.
- Ability to obtain necessary airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration background checks.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Service-oriented with a professional appearance and a proven ability to create a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
- Strong decision-making abilities, prioritizing both technical accuracy and passenger service.
- Physical capacity to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working around animals, including handling and care before, during, and after flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for owners who smoke.
Base Salary Range:
$69,932 - $95,696
