Captain / Pilot in Command

Purpose:

The Pilot in Command serves as the Aircraft Commander, dedicated to ensuring safe operations and achieving exceptional customer satisfaction through the provision of outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Aircraft Commander, executing all duties necessary to ensure the safety of all flights and passengers in strict accordance with the aircraft Flight Manual, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable aviation legislation.
  • Focuses on the safe and efficient operation of flights, adhering diligently to all company procedures.
  • Ensures the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent verification of the aircraft's geographical position and its safe terrain clearance.
  • Carries out all operational procedures and checklists precisely as defined in the Airplane Flight Manual and Operations Manuals, and as determined by the Commander of the flight.
  • Reports promptly any occurrence or incident that has endangered or may have endangered safety.
  • Reports any fault, failure, malfunction, or defect believed to potentially affect the airworthiness or safe operation of the aeroplane.
  • Provides the highest level of customer service at all times, thereby significantly contributing to customer satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Holds a Frozen EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with appropriate type ratings.
  • Possesses a minimum of 500 hours of multi-crew experience.
  • Must demonstrate a history of excellent performance.
  • Successful completion of an upgrade course (Ground school and SIM) is required; a dispensation may be granted for Direct Entry Captains operating non-commercial flights.
  • Completion of line training as a Captain, including the line check for commercial operations, is mandatory.
  • Extensive flight experience within Europe is essential.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of two or more additional European languages is considered advantageous.
  • Location within a 3-hour driving radius from Lisbon is preferred.
  • Type rating on the EMB505 aircraft is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3000 hours Total Time (TTL) as Captain is preferred.
  • A strong background in commercial aviation operations (EUOPS and/or AIROPS environment) is advantageous.
  • Previous military or airline training is considered an advantage.
