Position Overview

Executive Jet Management is actively seeking a highly qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Citation XLS aircraft. This critical role is based in Wheeling, Illinois (KPWK airport) and operates as a dedicated three-pilot account, further supported by an on-site Maintenance Technician. The operational scope encompasses both Part 91 and Part 135 flights.

This is a non-commutable position, requiring the successful candidate to reside within driving distance of KPWK airport.

The Pilot in Command assumes ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC is expected to strictly adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:

  • Ensures all crewing and trip assignments comply with stringent company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assigned flight.
  • Utilizes the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
  • Complies with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates proactively with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
  • Executes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including thorough assessment of the aircraft's maintenance status, to confirm mission readiness. Accurately records all aircraft discrepancies in line with company SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures the accomplishment of all aircraft ground servicing items, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, in strict adherence to SOPs.
  • Conducts comprehensive passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulatory standards. Delivers the highest level of customer service and caters to any special needs of passengers, including those who are physically challenged.
  • Applies Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with crew members and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:

  • Provides premium quality service to aircraft owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves any service deviations.
  • Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistent and superior service experience for owners and passengers. Resolves conflicts and challenges professionally and acceptably.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintains all required regulatory and company training and ensures recency of experience.
  • Complies rigorously with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports any safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.

Qualifications

Certifications and Licenses:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
  • First Class Medical Certificate

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of aviation experience is required.
  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is highly preferred.
  • Must possess an FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Citation XLS).
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
    • PIC Multi Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours

Compensation

Executive Jet Management offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and aircraft cabin size:

  • Small/Mid/Supermid Cabin: $160,000 - $325,000 annually
  • Large/Heavy/Premium Cabin: $160,000 - $425,000 annually
