Purpose of the Position

Executive Jet Management is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced candidates for the critical role of Pilot in Command (PIC) of a Gulfstream 500 (G500) aircraft. This dedicated flight account is based at West Palm Beach, FL (KPBI) and operates under Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 135. The PIC will join a robust operational structure featuring a three-pilot crew fully supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician.

The Pilot in Command holds the ultimate authority and final responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC is required to strictly comply with all company policies and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience reflective of EJM’s luxury brand standards.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight

  • Ensures that all crewing assignments and trip plans are compliant with both company and strict regulatory requirements.
  • Completes all requisite flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks meticulously for each assignment.
  • Leads required operational briefings utilizing the advanced Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to actively mitigate potential operational risks.
  • Adheres rigorously to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates effectively with all company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator, defined by corporate policy.
  • Completes comprehensive aircraft pre-flight tasks, assessing the maintenance status of the aircraft to ensure it is fully mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies promptly in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (including fueling, oil, and oxygen replenishment) are accomplished precisely in accordance with SOPs.
  • Conducts comprehensive passenger safety briefings and delivers the highest level of customer service, accommodating any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged travelers).
  • Utilizes robust Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) techniques to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with the crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience

  • Provides premium quality service to aircraft owners and passengers while continually identifying opportunities to enhance and elevate the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations promptly.
  • Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to provide a consistent, world-class service experience. Resolves conflict and challenges professionally and acceptably.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance

  • Maintains all necessary regulatory and company-required training, ensuring continual recency of experience.
  • Complies fully with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports all safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate organizational channels.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience (KSAOs)

Successful candidates typically possess 4–6 years of professional aviation experience.

  • Must hold an FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Gulfstream).
  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is strongly preferred.
  • The applicant must be capable of performing all essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours
    • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: 1,500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 2,000 hours
    • PIC Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: 500 hours
    • Instrument Time: 300 hours
    • Jet Time: 500 hours
