Pilot in Command - Gulfstream 650
Executive Jet Management, a subsidiary of NetJets and a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a highly experienced and qualified Pilot in Command for a Gulfstream 650 aircraft based at Washington Dulles International Airport (KIAD). This role is part of a four-pilot team, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under Part 91 regulations.
The Pilot in Command bears ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This individual adheres to all company and regulatory requirements, while consistently providing an exceptional service experience. The ideal candidate will possess significant international flight experience and a preference will be given to local, type-rated applicants. Relocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure flight operations adhere to all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments for each flight.
- Utilize Threat, Plan, and Consideration (TPC) briefing methodologies to lead pre-flight briefings and mitigate operational risks effectively.
- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate with company personnel as necessary.
- Act as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as per company policy.
- Complete thorough pre-flight checks, including aircraft maintenance status, to ensure mission readiness.
- Maintain meticulous records of any aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Monitor and manage all aircraft ground servicing requirements (fueling, oil, oxygen, etc.), adhering to SOPs.
- Deliver comprehensive passenger briefings in line with company policy and regulations, ensuring the highest level of customer service, including accommodating any special needs.
- Employ Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support staff during standard, unusual, and emergency scenarios.
- Provide high-quality service to owners and passengers, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance the overall experience.
- Collaborate with fellow crew members and internal partners to deliver consistent service to all stakeholders, and resolve any conflicts in a professional manner.
- Maintain all regulatory and company-mandated training and recency requirements.
- Adhere to the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and report any safety or non-compliance concerns appropriately.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- 8-10 years of relevant aviation experience.
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in the Gulfstream GVI.
- Extensive international experience in corporate aviation is essential.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
