Chief Flying Instructor (NJE)

NetJets Transportes Aéreos, S.A. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as Chief Flying Instructor within Flight Operations. This role is based in Paço de Arcos, PT.

The Chief Flying Instructor will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Flight Crew Member (FCM) training programs. These programs are to ensure an industry-leading training experience that is fully compliant with EASA and National Aviation Authority regulations. The incumbent will lead and manage Type Rating Examiners, Instructors, and Training Captains to train and check FCMs, thereby maintaining the highest levels of professional knowledge, skill, and proficiency. This will ensure a fully trained and qualified crew, in accordance with NTA policies, procedures, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, risk assess, and manage EASA AIR-OPS compliant training programs for assigned fleets.
  • Plan, develop, and lead the six-monthly Phased Recurrent Program.
  • Develop and implement the Special Airports training program for each fleet.
  • Lead, mentor, monitor, and manage assigned Examiners, Instructors, and Training Captains.
  • Manage the workload and roster for each fleet’s Senior Training Captain (STC).
  • Produce and manage bespoke training packages to support FCMs who require remedial or additional training.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with third-party training providers.
  • Coordinate with the Crew Training Support Manager to provide 24/7 duty support to ongoing training events.
  • Recruit, train, and develop suitable FCMs for the position of Examiner, Instructor, or Line Training Captain.
  • Provide subject matter expert support to the Flight Operations and Safety and Compliance Departments.
  • Lead or support Training Department or interdepartmental projects as assigned.
  • Track, monitor, and record individual FCM’s performance.
  • Hold a Type Rating Instructor qualification.
  • Maintain competency and conduct/supervise training events in the CRJ200 simulator.
  • Support the Head of Crew Training in planning the budget for the Training Department.
  • Lead and manage the Crew Resource Management Examiners and Instructors when nominated as Human Factors Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in pilot training, with a minimum of 3000 hours, including prior simulator training experience.
  • NetJets PIC with current or previous Line Training Captain experience.
  • Qualified TRE/TRI (may be obtained in role).
  • Training experience in an AIR-OPS environment.
  • Prior managerial experience is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of EASA Air Ops and Part FCL (may be obtained in role).
  • Fluency in Business English (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
