Second In Command (SIC)

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida (PIE) / Remote

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $120,000 annually

Position Summary

The Second In Command (SIC) reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and functionally to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during flight operations. Based in St. Petersburg, Florida (PIE), the SIC is responsible for assisting the PIC in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company procedures. The successful candidate must reside within the St. Petersburg region and be prepared for 100% travel while on a 6-on, 8-off rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute safe and efficient domestic flight operations under Part 135 regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, including passenger greeting, seating assistance, luggage handling, and passenger briefings.
  • Adhere to all company procedure manuals and maintain a current First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, coordinate crew activities, and respond effectively to passenger needs.
  • Maintain accountability and provide clear, professional communication via phone, email, and personal correspondence.

Required Qualifications

  • ATP complete.
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Appropriate Type Rating and current Citation XLS qualification.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours Total Time (Fixed Wing), including 200 hours of Multi-Engine time.
  • Working knowledge of FAR Part 135, FAA, ICAO, and international flight operations.
  • Valid Passport and the ability to obtain/maintain CANPASS authorization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer/mobile applications.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a comprehensive background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This is a safety-sensitive role subject to FAA drug and alcohol testing. Candidates must possess the ability to:

  • Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 70 pounds.
  • Climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and move within tight, cramped aircraft interiors.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures, loud machinery, and jet engines.
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
