Second In Command (SIC) - Citation XLS

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida (PIE) / Remote

Position Type: Full Time

Compensation: $120,000 annually

Schedule: 6 days on, 8 days off

Position Summary

The Second In Command (SIC) reports to the Chief Pilot and serves under the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during flight operations. The SIC is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and company procedures. The successful candidate must be based in the St. Petersburg, Florida region.

Essential Functions

  • Execute safe and efficient domestic flight operations under Part 135 regulations while maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Adhere to all company procedures manuals.
  • Maintain a current FAA First Class medical certificate.
  • Coordinate and lead the crew with professionalism.
  • Provide passenger assistance, including greeting, seating, luggage storage, and safety briefings.

Required Qualifications

  • ATP complete.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical.
  • Appropriate Type Rating: Citation XLS.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours Total Time (Fixed Wing), including 200 hours of Multi-Engine time.
  • Valid Passport and ability to obtain/maintain CANPASS authorization.
  • Working knowledge of FAR Part 135, FAA, ICAO, and international flight operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mobile/web-based applications.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role requires working in industrial/hangar environments, varied weather conditions, and tight business aircraft interiors. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; climb, bend, crouch, and move in tight quarters; and regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 70 pounds. The role involves 100% travel while on rotation.
