Position Summary
The Second In Command (SIC) plays a pivotal role in flyExclusive's flight operations, reporting administratively to the Chief Pilot and operationally to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during all flight assignments. The SIC is instrumental in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and flyExclusive's rigorous operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safe and efficient flight operations for domestic trip assignments under Part 135 regulations, consistently delivering an exceptional level of customer service.
- Adhere meticulously to all duties and responsibilities detailed within company procedures manuals and operational guidelines.
- Maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate and promptly communicate any medical conditions (physical or mental) that may affect the ability to perform flight duties.
- Exhibit exemplary professionalism, demonstrating the ability to effectively coordinate and lead the flight crew.
- Provide superior passenger service, including welcoming passengers, assisting with seating, and managing luggage storage.
- Conduct thorough passenger briefings and efficiently respond to passenger requests and needs throughout the flight.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the seamless execution of flight operations.

Qualifications
Certifications & Ratings:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid Passport.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted commercial pilot travel to/from Canada.
- Must possess a Type Rating in the Citation X.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2,000 hours Total Time (Fixed Wing).
- At least 200 hours of Multi-Engine Time.
Knowledge & General Requirements:
- Thorough working knowledge of all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) applicable to Part 135 operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of FAA, ICAO, and other international flight operations regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and advanced multi-tasking abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills are paramount for success in this role.
- Computer proficiency necessary for operating word processing, email, web-based, and mobile device applications.
- A passionate attention to detail and a collaborative team-oriented approach are essential.
- Ability to consistently present a well-groomed appearance, adhering to company standards.
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and provide two forms of federal identification.
- Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment, encompassing verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and other relevant information.
- This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The role involves exposure to typical outdoor and industrial/hangar environments, including loud noises from airplane machinery and jet engines. Employees should expect exposure to extreme temperatures due to travel requirements and will operate within standard business aircraft interiors, which may involve tight or cramped spaces. Essential physical demands include the ability to see and hear clearly, read, comprehend, and speak English fluently. The Second In Command must be able to climb, twist, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and move in tight quarters. The role also requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, work effectively in all weather conditions, and regularly push/pull up to 70 pounds and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Travel Requirements
This position requires 100% travel while on rotation.
