Job Description: First Officer
Etihad Airways, a leading global airline, seeks a highly skilled and experienced First Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of aircraft and cargo, contributing to Etihad's unwavering commitment to operational excellence and passenger well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Share responsibility for the safety and security of the aircraft and onboard cargo, assuming command in the Commander's absence.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Etihad's Operations Manual to perform duties professionally and safely.
- Assist the Commander with flight-related administrative tasks as required.
- Support the Commander in upholding high standards of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Execute flight duties as assigned by the Commander, adhering to Etihad's operating policies and procedures.
- Independently monitor the aircraft's geographical position, ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conduct flights in compliance with the flight plan, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions (when the Commander is not at the controls). Immediately inform the Commander of any flight plan changes, Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications, or changes in geographical position upon their return to the flight deck.
- Provide timely and effective advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to promote safe and efficient flight operations.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the highest standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways.
- Assume command in the event of Commander incapacitation, if the highest-ranking co-pilot assigned to the flight.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2500 hours total flight time.
- Minimum 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft, or high-performance military jets.
- 500 hours on Boeing aircraft.
- Current type rating on a Boeing aircraft.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPLs are only accepted from UAE citizens).
- Current and unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age of 50 years.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) – Level 4 or higher.
- For flight hours accumulated with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards minimum requirements.
Compensation and Benefits:
Fixed monthly salary of AED 18,000.
Variable Pay:
- Flying day rate: AED 1,080
- Other operating day rate: AED 500
- Layover (HOTAC & Transport): Provided
Monthly Productivity Pay:
- < 12 days: 0 AED
- 12-13 days: AED 2,475
- 14-15 days: AED 3,700
- >=16 days: AED 6,180
Annual Performance Incentive:
- < 150 days: 0 AED
- 150-159 days: AED 6,300
- 160-174 days: AED 9,450
- >=175 days: AED 16,500
- Annual Leave: 2 working days per month with a minimum of 12 operated days (capped at 20 days annually).
