Program Overview

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is offering a dynamic and rewarding two-year training and development program for UAE Nationals. This program is designed to equip aspiring individuals with the technical expertise required to become Licensed Aircraft Technicians, preparing them for progression within one of the world's fastest-growing airlines. The program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on, on-the-job training across various aircraft types, fostering collaboration, challenging individuals, and developing future leaders in the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the GCAA-approved training syllabus and program requirements.
  • Achieve and maintain an overall 75% pass rate for all module exams within stipulated timelines.
  • Comply with performance requirements set by the GCAA, the Training Institute, and Etihad Airways.
  • Complete on-the-job training within the assigned timeline post-theory qualification.
  • Diligently execute and complete the Schedule of Work (logbook) with assigned tasks.
  • Successfully attend and pass scheduled mandatory training in accordance with Etihad Airways Policy.
  • Participate and successfully pass Technical Staff Competency Assessments when assigned.
  • Ensure all work performed at Etihad Airways is completed safely, in conformance with company procedures, and in compliance with applicable GCAA regulations.
  • Carry out work in compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations.
  • Stay updated with applicable regulation amendments, company procedures, and the latest maintenance best practices.
  • Take responsibility for personal work after completing tasks assigned by Certifying Staff, performed in accordance with approved data.

Program Outcomes

  • Enroll in a recognized Aviation Maintenance training program and complete the GCAA-approved aircraft maintenance technician course.
  • Gain practical on-the-job experience under supervision to acquire the necessary 12 months of experience for GCAA license and Aircraft Maintenance Certification Authorisation.
  • Obtain the GCAA CAT A license.
  • Obtain aircraft maintenance certification authorization.
  • Graduate as a Licensed Aircraft Technician.

Program Phases & Compensation

  • Phase 1 (Training): Stipend of AED 5000 per month.
  • Phase 2 (After obtaining GCAA License CAT “A”): Compensation of AED 21400.
  • Phase 3 (After obtaining Certification Authorisation as CAT “A” Technician): Compensation of AED 24717.

Candidate Requirements

  • UAE national with a valid family book.
  • Age between 18 and 29 years old.
  • High school certificate or equivalent, including Maths/Physics/Science with a 60% overall score.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Completed or permanently exempted from UAE National Service (males only).
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights.
  • Flexibility regarding working outdoors.
